About

Yujong Hwang is a Professor & Ezerski Endowed Fellow and Director of MIS program in the School of Accountancy & MIS at DePaul University, Chicago. He is also a Coordinator of Business Tech course at the Driehaus College of Business in DePaul. He received his PhD in business (MIS and accounting) from the University of South Carolina and was a Visiting Professor in the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He was an International Scholar at Kyung Hee University in South Korea for a decade. He has published more than 90 refereed journal articles on human-AI interaction, e-commerce, and FinTech. He has received more than 10,000 Google Scholar citations with over 45 H-index. He was listed in the Top 5 prominent authors in the field of “AI and digital financial inclusion” by the bibliometric analysis in 2000-2024. He was also listed in the Top 150 MIS scholars by the University of Arizona ranking and Top 1,000 computer science researchers by UCLA ranking. He received the Spirit of Inquiry Award from DePaul University in 2025. He also received the College Outstanding Researcher of the Year Award and the School Excellence in Research Award. He was a Program Co-chair of the Americas Conference on Information Systems 2013 and Distinguished (Senior) Associate Editor of European Journal of Information Systems. He is an Association for Information Systems Distinguished Member – Cum Laude and Associate Editor of Electronic Commerce Research & Applications and Journal of Electronic Commerce Research.
