​​Dr. Nomi No​​am Ostrander (they/she) is a gender, sex, and relationship therapist, social worker, and teacher-scholar whose community-based work focuses largely on gun violence, gender identity, sex, queerness, and disability. They are an associate professor and Chair at DePaul University’s Department of Social Work. Dr. Ostrander has published and presented her work in publications and at conferences ac​ross the globe. They previously served as ​​​the director for the Chicago Gun Violence Research Collaborative, which brought together Chicago-based universities, health systems, and communities to explore community-based solutions to gun violence and structural racism. She has been featured in national media publications like Time Magazine, the New York Times, the Boston Globe, and the Chicago Tribune among others.​​​
