About

I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Anthropology at DePaul University. I earned my PhD from the Department of Archaeology at the University of Cambridge where I studied the legal trade in antiquities in Israel. My research investigates the efficacy of law in archaeological site protection. I currently co-direct the Galilee Prehistory Project (http://galileeprehistoryproject.org/), investigating the Chalcolithic of northern Israel and the Follow the Pots project, tracking the movement of Early Bronze Age pots from mortuary landscapes in Jordan to the global antiquities market. I recently co-authored (with Christina Luke) US Cultural Diplomacy and Archaeology: Soft Power, Hard Heritage (Routledge 2013).
