About

​Dr. Miyairi (Steel) is an Assistant Professor emphasizing public health education. She was previously an Associate Professor of Health Promotion and Education in the Kinesiology and Health Science Department at Utah State University - Brigham City campus until December 2021. She received her master's degree in Exercise and Sport Science and her doctoral degree in Health Promotion and Education at the University of Utah. Her research interests include mental health promotion and prevention (e.g., eating disorders, suicide prevention), health promotion/lifestyle modification practices, and social justice issues (e.g., weight stigma and bias, LGBTQ+).
